Wow!!
The first impression of this amazing apartment
was “Wow”!!
The internet was nothing near doing it justice,
but a very good way of finding this place to
make our stay in your beautiful city the best.
We have more than enjoyed living there –
all the beautiful things, room details and furniture,
original or new in a very tasteful combination
has made every moment in here a joy. Apart from
that, you made us feel very welcome with all
“extras” in the kitchen and fridge.
We would also like to thank you for making it
so easy for us to bring and take care of our
baby here, with tha table-chair, the wagon,
bed and bathtub - even soap!
Barcelona was a very nice city to visit, and
by living so central and comfortable, the whole
impression was more than great!! A Million thanks
to the caretakers of Casa Serra – and
Adriana for a great job!

Pere & Jordi Puigdefàbregas Serra
Casa-Serra 1919 Barcelona
Roger de Llúria 125 (3r)
08037 BARCELONA
Dear Mrs. Puigdefàbregas Serra:
It has been the distinct pleasure of our extended
family to stay in Casa Serra for the past two
weeks during our holiday in Barcelona. The apartment
exceeded all of our expectations, and greatly
enhanced out enjoyment of this wonderful city.
Please allow me to elaborate on a number of
features from a guest´s perspective that
may be helpful to prospective tenants in the
future.
The location is central and in a very nice area.
We never had any apprehension walking to and
from our late night outings. The building is
quite secure with a locked front gate. Shopping,
restaurants, markets, and metro station are
only a short walk away - and a wonderful bakery
is literally a few steps from the front door.
Taxis are easily flagged from in front of the
building or on a major thoroughfare only half
a block away.
The building is a substantial stone edifice
that is both charming and in excellent condition.
There is access to the upper floors by an elevator
or by the stairwell that surrounds it. Though
the apartment is officially on the "third"
floor, it is actually five floors above the
street - providing distance from any street
noise. The apartment itself is quite spacious,
with 15 foot ceilings through the entry, entertainment
and dining areas. There are large windows throughout
the apartment. The extensive woodwork, hardwood
floors, ceiling treatments, and fine furnishings
give the apartment an ambience that is both
warm and elegant. With multiple living areas,
we found it easy to have several activities
going simultaneously - Scrabble, Foosball, television,
reading, conversation. Similary, because the
bedrooms are well away from the living areas,
our different generations could maintain independent
sleep schedules without disturbing each other.
The multiple bathrooms also allowed our large
group to bathe and dress with easy efficiency.
The kitchen is fully equiped with gas stove
and oven, microwave, large pantry, cooking utensils,
and ample pottery/glassware. A full-size refrigerator/freezer
is just outside the kitchen in a serving area.
Unlimited bottled water was available from a
free-standing cooler next to the refrigerator.
We hired a chef to prepare most of our evening
meals, and comfortably seated 14 at the dining
room table. The washer and dryer in the utility
room appeared to be new, and we found their
presence to be quite helpful in our extended
stay. We also appreciated the innumerable "fully-equipped"
details that made Casa Serra a low hassle experience
- from corkscrews, bread box, to iron, to the
rolling shopping bag. Finally, you were quite
prompt and gracious in responding to any assistance
that we required during our stay.
The bottom line is that our quarters were so
comfortable that we felt little urgency to leave
them, though we knew that there was much about
Barcelona that we had not yet explored. Thanks
for making Casa Serra available to us. We look
forward to another visit in the future.
Best regards,
Mark D. Cunningham

Our first impressions of Barcelona & Spain
came from meeting Pere at Casa Serra:
The apartment is elegant, spacious & extremely
comfortable. The location is first rate.
Pere– you are a charming & helpful
landlord. Nothing was ever too much trouble
for you. In fact you helped us a lot from the
time of our very first contact with you, months
ago before we arrived.
Adriana – you kept the apartment in perfect
condition & your happy face was always a
pleasure to see every day.
Casa Serra is a haven to return to after enjoying
the many interesting & beautiful sights,
sounds, tastes & feel of Barcelona.
This town & Casa Serra has worked its way
firmly under our skin & all of us are sad
to be leaving. We hope to return one day.
Sometimes first impressions are just ‘spot
on’.
Thank you from Peter,Lorraine, Jae and
Max. Melbourne, Australia.

Having spent one week in Casa Serra this past
August, my husband and I know that we’re
not likely to equal the experience on any future
vacation. The apartment is not only stunningly
beautiful, spacious, perfectly located and reflective
of the wonderful history of Barcelona, its also
convenient, fantastically maintained and replete
with whatever you need (including every piece
of cooking equipment you might want, guide books,
lists of local restaurants and markets, even
DVD’s and games appropriate for every
age group). For us, it felt like we had the
most wonderful of hosts--who was simply elsewhere
during our stay.

Casa Serra is so much more than a beautiful
apartment; it is a wonderful step back into
Barcelona's history, whilst embracing all of
the modern conveniences of a luxury hotel. It's
stunning interior has been lovingly cared for
and tastefully furnished, from the serene chapel,
to the magificent sitting room with its grand
wood-carved fireplace and the fanatastic gallery
over-looking the living area.
As a family of eight, ranging in age from mid-twenties
to mid-seventies, I was a little concerned that
all of us might feel somewhat restricted.
However the vast rooms and numerous activities
available meant that the apartment was absolutely
perfect for each of us, and we all agreed that
it had something for everyone. The attention
to detail by Pere and Jordi was magnificent,
from the entertainment systems, to the numerous
books and magazines in the library, to the business
area, complete with computer with internet access
and printer, to the cold water dispenser in
the kitchen, even umbrellas in the hall cupboard!
And nothing was too much trouble to either of
them, making our stay in Barcelona absolutely
perfect.
I have recommended Casa Serra to all of my friends;
it is sheer luxury but has a wonderfully comfortable
atmosphere which makes one feel at home within
minutes of being there. I hope to visit
again some day; I love Barcelona, and Casa Serra
has become a huge part of that affection.
Kindest regards,
Janet Turnbull
